Cathy Marston

BIO

Cathy Marston is a veteran teacher with more than 30 years in the classroom. Currently, she is teaching 5th grade at Sutherland Elementary School in Glendora, California. In
2015, she was a founding member of the Glendora C3 Collaborative where she actively worked to foster inquiry-based instruction in the elementary classroom. In 2016, she
earned the honor of CCSS’s outstanding elementary teacher of the year. She is an active member of SCSSA were she presently holds the position of vice president. Cathy
has presented inquiry-based lessons at CCSS, NCSS, and at the Reagan Library for Constitution Day. Her goal is to show others that Social Studies and civics rich classrooms are the keys to literacy and democracy.
