September 17th is Constitution and Citizenship Day which marks the day in 1787 when the delegates to the Constitutional Convention met in Philadelphia for the last time to sign the document they had created. The California Department of Education encourages educators to recognize this day to commemorate the formation and signing of the Constitution of the United States. September is also a time to learn about Labor Day, Patriot Day, International Literacy Day and National Hispanic Heritage Month.
